Our Mission
To empower family caregivers, aging care recipients, volunteers, area academia, businesses and the community in a positive, nurturing manner through quality, targeted programming.
Our History
Aloha to Aging, Inc. was founded by Dawn Reed, a Certified Senior Advisor and owner of Aloha to Senior Solutions Consulting, who has been in the healthy aging industry for 35+ years. After directing an award winning and nationally recognized day respite program for six years and leading caregiver education and support groups, Dawn knew first hand the increased value these services provided to families. With tremendous encouragement and support from the community, volunteers and families, Aloha to Aging, Inc. was founded in August 2009.
Our Objectives
🌺 Creating a Safe and Joyful Haven for Older Adults
We strive to provide a warm, nurturing, and socially engaging space for adults 50 and older—especially those who no longer drive and may feel isolated. At Aloha Day Club, every day is filled with meaningful connection: sharing laughter with friends, enjoying music, moving with gentle exercise, exploring creativity, and experiencing the joy of multigenerational activities.
🌺 Supporting Carepartners with Compassion
Caring for a loved one is a journey that shouldn’t be walked alone. Our support groups for Alzheimer’s/Dementia and Parkinson’s caregivers offer a safe place to share, connect, and heal together. Here, caregivers find strength in each other—offering encouragement, exchanging wisdom, and finding comfort in knowing they are not alone.
🌺 Empowering Volunteers to Make a Difference
We believe volunteers are the heartbeat of our programs. From young students to seasoned seniors, volunteers bring their talents, time, and compassion to enrich the lives of others. Whether sharing music, leading art projects, supporting Aloha Day Club, helping with fundraising, or guiding our mission through board leadership—volunteers become part of our Aloha family and the impact they make is immeasurable.
🌺 Promoting Lifelong Wellness and Education
We are passionate about equipping our community with tools for healthy aging and resilience. Through innovative programs like “A Day in the Life” hands-on simulation, Healthy Brain Game Days, “Park n Rec” exercise, Dementia Friends, and caregiver stress workshops, we inspire healthier minds, stronger bodies, and more connected hearts.
🌺 Fostering Partnerships for Greater Impact
We value partnerships with colleges, faith-based groups, civic and national organizations, and local businesses. Together, we build awareness and understanding of age-related physical and cognitive challenges—strengthening our community and ensuring that no one walks this journey alone.
We are the only organization in the area providing these unique services.
